Each submission costs $8.00 USD and the winner gets a cash prize ($3.00 from each entry is added to the pot) and a brand new Leica X (Typ 113). At the time of publication the cash prize was just over $1656.00 with 555 entries. The cash amount is sure to go up as the contest draws to a close.
The I SHOT IT street photography contest is being judged by Herbert Piel, a photojournalist who has worked for the DPA (German press agency), Associated Press and several news magazines. It’s an interesting choice to use a photojournalist to judge the street photography competition as many photographers see the two disciplines as unique unto themselves. Looking forward to seeing the results!
